Our Transition-Age programs in Maryland (formerly New Pathways) educate and empower disconnected young adults to overcome the obstacles placed in their path that prevent them from reaching their full potential. Youth who – for one reason or another – lack the essential education, life skills, job training, family support, and social networks necessary to make their way in the world.
Our programs are designed to break down these barriers for youth ages 16-24. We take a holistic approach and provide individualized services in hopes that all young people can get the support they need to achieve their goals and change the way they view life and their own potential.
Independent Living
Our Independence Plus Program offers apartment-based services for foster youth ages 17-21. This includes life skills education, career development and physical and mental health care. Our Second Generations program mirrors these services for young parents who attend school or work and also provides parenting and day care services.
Career & Workforce Development
These programs offer customer-centered workforce development options that support our young adults and employer partners. Using a personalized approach that takes into account a student’s unique profile, we provide comprehensive experiential learning options, including career readiness, essential skill building, vocational planning, college preparation, career placement support and case management.
Education/Support Services
We understand that, more than anything, education is the key to success and that a skill gap – any skill gap – can mean the difference between moving ahead or falling behind. At Pressley Ridge, we do everything we can to fill in those gaps, whether the gap is academic, vocational, financial, social, or emotional.
